Midwest Dreamin’ & WITness Success 2023

I am yet again a bit behind, but would be remiss if I utterly neglected a shout out to the amazing organizers of Midwest Dreamin’ and WITNess Success for 2023.  These two events have been on my “never miss” list of Salesforce community events since I first started Salesforce-ing, and I’ve never regretted a moment I spent at both. 

For those who haven’t had the chance to attend, I can’t recommend them both enough. This year I had the privilege of being featured as a panelist for the WITness Success Allies dinner, alongside the indomitable, indefatigable Marisa Hambleton and Tiffany Spencer.  Definitely go read about them, they are both powerhouses and leaders that this community would undoubtedly be impoverished without, and it was an honor to be featured on stage alongside them.   

Mike Martin of 10K served as the moderator, and delivered a level of professionalism and thoroughness that just blew me away and made participating a breeze.  If you’ve never sat on a panel you may be surprised to learn that they don’t come together quite as breezily as they seem.  Indeed, if the panel felt effortless, this is typically due to a great amount of preparation on the part of the host and moderators, and this was absolutely no exception.  Mike took the time to interview each of us beforehand, and curated our stories in a way to make 2 + 2 equally so much more than 4.  Thanks, Mike!

I always struggle to pull out just one or a few moments to highlight from amazing events like MWD/WIT, but this year it’s not at all difficult.  In addition to meeting so many amazing women, and reconnecting with treasured old friends, I was delighted to see that some attendees had brought their daughters to WIT. 

I can’t think of a deeper endorsement for the work that we all do together and the magic that is made at these events than that professionals among us would bring our daughters.  That we would stand up and say, “this is what I want you to see is possible.”  Friends… we are doing something right.  Never forget that. 

And I am also now the proud owner of my very own Salesforce Frog Keychain, made by the fantastic Viki Moritz-Henry’s extremely crafty daughter.  Thank you, Viki, both for your fantastic presentation on finding your calling in life, as well as doing such an amazing job at the very difficult job of bringing up new humans.
